RightFax vs. OpenText™ Fax: What You Need to Know

RightFax™, the market-leading enterprise fax server, has been rebranded to OpenText™ Fax. 

This name change may cause confusion on two points. Here’s what you can expect—and why you needn’t worry.

First, it’s strictly a name change. OpenText Fax is RightFax, period. There are no changes to the technology, roadmap, support or anything else beyond branding.

Second, it’s different from OpenText Core Fax. 

• OpenText Fax (the former RightFax) is a server application that can be hosted on-prem or in the cloud.
• OpenText Core Fax is a purely cloud-based multi-tenant application with OpenText’s Core suite.

Despite similar names and overlapping use cases, Fax and Core Fax are completely separate products.

What’s Next for RightFax Customers?

If you already use RightFax, you don’t need to take any action. The rebrand will not affect your existing licenses and infrastructure.

Based on RightFax version history, we’d expect a major release for OpenText Fax in the coming months. Now is the ideal time to work with Paperless Productivity® consultants to:
